From a Rocky Start to a “Rocky” End by Doug Caporrino
The rocky start began before I entered the world. I had only just been realized. My mother was three months pregnant when she had to have a disk removed. The doctors encouraged her have an abortion, but she refused. Her refusal saved my life, but threatened hers. Fortunately, both of us were healthy. Born with three holes in my heart and rheumatoid arthritis in my joints, my entrance into the world was Rocky. This should have foretold my future, and it did. (After diagnosis with Familial Mediterranean fever, ...the doctor prescribed antibiotics, but they reacted with other medication I was on and sent me into convulsions... At 14 years old, I made a tough decision not to take the antibiotics.)
How to Build a Better Body: do what you enjoy
My fifteenth year was a growing point in my life I decided I began seeing a chiropractor, and he recommended I begin working out. At 6’2” and only 137 pounds, I needed to get healthy. I met my match -weight and nutrition.
By the time I was 18 years old, I won Mr. Teenage New Jersey in bodybuilding, and I never had a relapse. Just as my life had some light in it, I was involved in a car accident. The accident broke both of my kneecaps. It was back to the old drawing board, but I was dedicated to rebuilding myself. By 19, I won Mr New Jersey and was on a mission. My mission began in a pre-medical program with a major in biochemistry. I soon realized that pre-med was not from me. I became a certified and licensed nutritionist.

THE END OF DOUG’S STORY
Doug's story reminds us that you benefit from the nature of God because He has equipped you from creation with an amazing body. The circumstances in your life doesn't change that. Consider this verse.
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
